POLICE are urging witnesses to come forward after a collision led to a dog's death.
A cyclist is alleged to have crashed into a Chihuahua, killing it instantly, at Burrows Playing Field in Leckhampton, Cheltenham at around 10.45am on Saturday, March 30.
There was a brief exchange between the elderly woman, whose dog was off the lead, and the cyclist as he was riding towards them.
The cyclist has been described as a heavy man, who was wearing a black bike helmet and was riding a small bike.
Investigating officers are keen to talk to a woman who witnessed the incident and spoke with the dog's owner afterwards.
Police are urging her to come forward as she may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation.
Other members of the public who many have seen what happened, have any information or mobile phone footage are also being asked to get in touch.
Information can be provided to police by completing an online form on Gloucestershire police's website quoting incident 273 of March 30.
