THERE were surprisingly few races taking place over the Easter weekend but members of the Bourton Roadrunners were still able to get out and record some impressive times in events in and around Gloucestershire.
Susan Hunt did manage to find the recently relaunched Gloucester Half Marathon, which together with a supporting 10km event, was being held in support of Sue Ryder.
Veteran runner Hunt joined 1200 other runners over a traffic-free course around the city centre, taking in the scenic Gloucester Park and passing the impressive Gloucester Cathedral. In-form Hunt achieved an impressive time of one hour, 56 minutes and 56 seconds.
Despite Easter taking centre-stage, there were many keen runners, joggers and walkers taking part in Parkrun events around the country, including:
Chipping Norton School: Pippa Krzywiec - 23:12 (course PB), Gillian James - 32:12, Kate Price - 33:29, Jenny Evanson - 36:18
Cirencester: Graham Lane - 26:00
Stratford-upon-Avon: George Swayne 19:06, Dougal Hamilton-Smith - 20:02, Susan Hunt - 27:46, Louise Hamilton-Smith - 29:27, Claire Carroll - 29:28, Liz Hulcup - 29:49, Tom Knight - 29:53.
