A NEW production, based on a 1970s hit TV show, is coming to a popular boutique theatre in Cirencester this summer.
Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, based on Ray Allen's hilarious sitcom, will run at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester from Monday, July 8 until Saturday, August 17.
The comedy will follow loveable accident-prone Frank Spencer who fails to navigate even the easiest tasks of daily life, while also trying to look after his wife, who may be expecting more than he knows.
A simple, likeable character who unwittingly and apologetically left a trail of devastation in his wake, Spencer’s ineptitude and determination to try everything led to many unforgettable moments of laugh out loud comedy.
This revived production has been written by award-winning Guy Unsworth and aims to give the audience a feel-good night out, washed down with lashings of nostalgic belly laughs and mother’s prune wine.
Allen's Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em series was first broadcast in 1973 and ran for two series, including two Christmas specials in 1974 and 1975.
The creative team and casting for this upcoming show will be announced at a later date.
