AN 18-YEAR-OLD from the Cirencester area has been fined for being in charge of a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit.
Jacob Morling, of Ampney St Peter, Cirencester, was in a Volkswagen Polo in Shurdington Road, Cheltenham on March 8 when he was breathalysed.
He gave a reading of 63 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35 micrograms.
Morling pleaded guilty to the offence at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 26.
He was fined £80 and must pay a £32 victim surcharge plus £85 costs - a total of £197.
Ten points have also been added to his licence.
A previous version of this story was incorrect. Being in charge of a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit does NOT mean the defendant drove the vehicle at the time.
It means the defendant was the person in charge of the vehicle at the time and was over the limit but was not driving it.
