RADIO volunteers in Cirencester were on cloud nine after they discovered that their station had scooped up another accolade.
Cirencester Radio, formerly Corinium Radio, has been named Global LiveWire's Radio Broadcaster of the Year.
Global LiveWire - a body of professionals working in retail, travel, hospitality and communications - hands out accolades to celebrate the achievements of companies who have stood out for being service focused and have demonstrated exceptional performance.
The station - which is now based at Kings Head Hotel in Cirencester - was also named Gloucestershire's Local Radio Broadcaster of the Year 2023 by Southern Enterprise Awards at the end of last year.
Chairman of Cirencester Radio Dan Woodward is delighted with this recognition, and said that the presenters are always looking for new ways to entertain listeners.
Mr Woodward said: “With a return to the Cotswold Show in July as well as an appearance at the Phoenix Festival in August, we will give visitors an opportunity to meet some of our local presenters and see how a show is designed and broadcast.
“We are also delighted to continue supporting Cirencester Hospital Radio with shows presented by our volunteers and are so looking forward to Cirencester Community Awards 2024, organised jointly with Cirencester Community Development Trust.”
