FLOOD alerts has been placed on rivers across the Cirencester and Malmesbury area.
The government has issued four warnings while the Met Office forecasts light rain until 3pm with more on the way tomorrow.
The alert includes the River Churn in the Cirencester area and the River Thames and its tributaries from Calcutt to Lechlade, particularly the Kempsford area.
It also includes the River Coln in the Fairford area as well as the Upper Bristol Avon area including Malmesbury, Didmarton and Tetbury.
However, it is understood property flooding is not expected on the River Churn, the River Thames or the River Coln.
The alert reads: “Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today.
“A band of rain is moving across the area today, which is expected to clear during the afternoon.
“Further rain, which could be heavy at times, is forecast for tomorrow daytime.
“River levels are expected to remain high over the coming days.
“We are monitoring the situation and our staff are in the area clearing trash screens.
“Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.”
