POLICE officers have urged drivers to make sure they lock their unattended cars after receiving several reports of vehicle crime.

Two boxes were taken from an unlocked car parked in Church Road, Quenington sometime between 2.30am and 3.30am on Monday morning, February 12.

CCTV footage captured the thief dumping the card boxes at the end of the road later on in the morning which were eventually recovered by the victim.

Police officers would like to speak to anyone in the area who has information or more CCTV footage of the incident.

Information can be provided to the police by completing a form on Gloucestershire police's website quoting incident number 123 of February 12.

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to  Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: "Please remember to double check that your vehicles are locked and to not leave any valuables inside them.

"Please don't hesitate to call the police if you witness suspicious activity and dial 999 if you believe a crime is taking place."
