THE closure of a key road going into Cirencester's town centre means a bus route will be diverted until Friday.
Somerford Road - between Spratsgate Lane and Chesterton Lane - is closed until Friday, December 22 due to Thames Water works.
This means two 882 bus services will be diverted over the next few days.
The 7.23am service from Tetbury to Kingshill School will approach Cirencester along Spratsgate Lane as normal but it will then continue down Wilkinson Road instead of turning left into Somerford Road.
At the first mini roundabout, it will take the first exit into Love Lane and at the second it will take the first exit into Love Lane/Chesterton Lane.
After 0.4 miles it will turn right at the crossroads into Somerford Road to re-join the normal route.
The 3.35pm bus from Kingshill School to Tetbury will turn left at the crossroads from Somerford Road into Chesterton Lane instead of continuing straight on.
At the first mini roundabout, it will take the second exit into Love Lane and at the second mini roundabout, it will take the third exit into Wilkinson Road.
The normal route will resume after it passes the junction of Somerford Road into Spratsgate Lane.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach West said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused, albeit out of our control."
