Here is a Christmas message from Cotswold MP Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown.
He said: "This year has been a busy and challenging one.
"Looking ahead I am optimistic that the cost of living will ease, as inflation has already halved compared to its peak in 2022, helping households and businesses across the constituency.
"Hopefully, this will enable the Bank of England to reduce interest rates next year.
"My constituency responsibilities have kept me engaged with a diverse range of issues and I’ve been fortunate to meet many constituents at various surgeries, meetings, visits and events.
"I have worked to support Willersey Village as they oppose new broadband poles, lobbied ministers to stop the closure of train ticket offices, supported the campaign to keep the Wotton 84/85 bus service, spoken to sixth form students at Rendcomb College and worked with the Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner to improve police response times.
"Also, after 15 years of campaigning, I am delighted to have witnessed the commencement of construction on the A417.
"In addition, I am pleased to report the continuation of my twice-yearly public flood and pollution meetings that bring stakeholders together to address and resolve real issues such as the persistent sewage problems in Meysey Hampton.
"I also maintain a regular schedule of meetings with health chiefs, district council leaders, police chiefs and farmers.
"Education standards in England have improved in mathematics and literacy and I extend commendation to Cirencester College who have led the way in T-level courses and will continue to lead in the transition to the Advanced British Standard.
"While the health service remains a challenge, there is hope for progress in reducing waiting times, if strikes can be ended.
"I look forward to representing you next year and standing as a candidate for the next election for the North Cotswolds seat.
"I extend warm wishes to everyone for a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2024."
