SUBWAY has released a statement after the Cirencester fast-food restaurant was handed a very low food hygiene rating.
The sandwich restaurant, based at Brewery Court, Cirencester, was given a one-out-of-five rating after assessment on Wednesday, October 25, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
Food hygiene ratings reflect the hygiene standards which are found on the day of inspection by the local authority.
Areas inspected by a food safety officer are the hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building plus the management of food safety.
A spokesperson for Subway has assured its loyal customers that the Brewery Court team has taken 'immediate action' to resolve any hygiene issues.
They said: “The health and safety of all guests is of paramount importance to us, and all restaurants are regularly audited to encourage compliance.
"The franchisee of the Brewery Court restaurant in Cirencester has taken immediate action to resolve this issue and another inspection has been completed where it achieved a five star rating."
