POLICE officers have launched an investigation after a barn caught alight yesterday afternoon.
The huge blaze, at a large derelict barn near Springbank Road in Hester’s Way in Cheltenham, was reported to police shortly before 4.45pm on Wednesday, November 15.
Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service extinguished the fire and no one was injured.
The cause has been deemed suspicious and police are treating the incident as arson.
Two boys and a girl who were wearing dark clothing, aged between 12 and 15, were spotted running from the direction of the farmland where the derelict building was situated and across the park towards Fiddlers Green Lane.
The girl has been described as slim and has long brown hair.
Anyone with information or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time has been asked to call 101 or to submit an online form on Gloucestershire police's website quoting incident 334 of November 15.
