A POPULAR takeaway in Cirencester has been handed a new food hygiene rating.
Eastern Spice, an Indian takeaway at 99 Watermoor Road in Cirencester, was given a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on Thursday, October 5.
This means that out of 36 takeaways in the Cotswolds with ratings, 26 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
Food hygiene ratings reflect the hygiene standards which are found on the day of inspection by the local authority.
The three areas which are inspected by a food safety officer are the food handling, the conditions of the facilities and the management of food safety.
