A VOLUNTEER-RUN radio station in Cirencester has scooped up a prestigious award.
Presenters from Cirencester Radio gathered at their studio in the Kings Head Hotel in Cirencester last week to celebrate being named Gloucestershire's Local Radio Broadcaster of the Year 2023 by Southern Enterprise Awards.
Awards coordinator Jack Ford said: "We have seen so much dedication from our winners, and they truly put so much heart into what they do.
"The south of the UK is flourishing, and so are their success stories.
"In fact, our winners are staying ahead of the curve with their forward-thinking dedication, zest for spotless service, and their fingers firmly placed on the pulse of their own industries.”
Chair of Cirencester Radio Carole Boydell said: “We are proud to broadcast from our studio within the Kings Head Hotel, in the heart of the town known as the capital of the Cotswolds.
"Our fantastic team of local presenters bring you your favourite music every day.
"You can listen to local businesses share their impressive stories and re-live some of the most amazing local events such as the Phoenix Festival and Cirencester Community Awards on our website.
"It’s a tremendous achievement to receive this accolade of Local Radio Broadcaster of the Year, Gloucestershire and we would like to thank our volunteers and supporters – and our wonderful listeners across the town and beyond.”
