PLANE enthusiasts captured pictures of a US bomber taking off from RAF Fairford in the pouring rain.
The B-1B Lancer bombers were scheduled to conduct a fly over of Estonia’s capital Tallinn at approximately 3pm on Thursday, October 19.
The mission is to demonstrate U.S. solidarity with their Estonian allies.
The planned flight path will take the aircraft at a low altitude over Freedom Square toward Lauluväljak (Song Festival Grounds).
The B-1s are from the 7th Bomb Wing, 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron out of Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, currently deployed to Gloucestershire's RAF Fairford.
These planes carry the air force’s largest conventional payload of guided and unguided weapons.
The United States has provided more than $500 million in security assistance to Estonia since 2016, and regularly conducts military-to-military engagements in Estonia with U.S. personnel.
As NATO Allies, the two countries regularly train together to improve coordination and interoperability between the armed forces of both nations.
