A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has admitted breaching the conditions of an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction by attacking a man in a Cirencester subway.

The boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons - admitted the breach when he appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court last Friday, September 29.

According to information on the court register, video footage showed the boy shouting at the man in the Kingsmead subway - which goes under the A419 Bristol Road in Cirencester - before he wrestles him onto the floor on Monday, August 14.

It also showed the boy pushing the victim against metal railings before punching him in the face.

The court register also states that the boy adopted a 'boxing stance' and kept shouting 'Come on' towards the victim before grabbing the man's arms and pinning them to his sides.

The man is said to be heard saying: "Don't hit me, don't hit me again."

The boy was taken to court because the incident breached an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction imposed on him at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 8 - just six days before the incident.

The 12-month order has several provisions and prohibitions including:

  • a ban on threatening to use violence towards another person
  • a ban on behaving in a way that causes alarm or harassment or distress to another person
  • a ban on swearing or shouting at people
  • a ban on climbing on buildings in the town centre or anywhere in Cirencester at any time

For the breach, the court imposed a four-week Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction supervision order.

A curfew was also imposed stating the boy must stay inside his Cirencester home between the hours of 8pm and 6am every day for four weeks.
