A Wetherspoons pub in Swindon was forced to close on Monday morning after a rodent ran inside.
The animal scurried inside the Dockle Farmhouse, on Bridge End Road, on Monday morning as a customer opened a door at 9.25am.
A spokesperson for the pub chain confirmed that the facility was forced to temporarily close at 10am whilst a hygiene company attended.
As of Monday at 1pm, the pub had reopened.
Wetherspoon spokesman, Eddie Gershon said: “The Dockle Farmhouse is open.
“This morning a rodent ran into the pub from outside after a customer opened the door.
“As a consequence, Wetherspoon called in a hygiene company.
“Wetherspoon has stringent processes in place to ensure the pub is run to the highest hygiene standards at all times.”
One customer reported that the pub closed at 10am and recalled being told to leave in the morning as they attended the Wetherspoons pub for breakfast.
Other customers who were waiting for their food were also asked to vacate, the customer said.
