PASSIONATE highly-enthusiastic staff at a playgroup near Cirencester were praised in a recent Ofsted report.
Duke of Gloucester Playgroup - which is located in the Duke of Gloucester Barracks in South Cerney - received a glowing report after a visit from an Ofsted inspector on Wednesday, July 12.
The playgroup was awarded Outstanding ratings in every single category assessed.
Children at the playgroup were described as "settled, happy, confident...[and] full of smiles".
The report praised the playgroup for being a place where "all children thrive" which cultivated "excellent independence skills from a young age".
The playgroup's manager Carole Mercier and staff were described as "highly enthusiastic" individuals who worked with "a passion to ensure that every child has the very best learning experience".
In addition, the inspector also applauded the staff's supportiveness.
The report stated: "Staff use every opportunity foster children's self-esteem.
"Children receive high praise for their achievements and staff show genuine pride and excitement when children achieve."
As a military-based playgroup, the inspector recognised the hard work that went into supporting children who may have a parent posted away.
It described the playgroup as an inclusive space where "children learn to value diversity and to respect one another" through a curriculum which encouraged learning of different cultural celebrations.
The report also commended the playgroup's "excellent" support for children with special educational needs and disabilities described the special educational needs coordinator as "highly skilled".
The arrangements for safeguarding were rated as effective.
Results from the parental questionnaire were also extremely positive.
The report stated: "Parents describe the playgroup staff as fantastic, friendly, welcoming and highly supportive.
"They feel extremely well informed about their children's learning and really appreciate opportunities to join their children in the setting."
Staff at the playgroup were elated when heard about the Outstanding result.
Playgroup manager Carole Mercier said: "We are absolutely delighted to have achieved our second consecutive Outstanding rating in our Ofsted inspection.
"The report resoundingly affirms that our early years setting is providing the best possible outcomes for our children.
"At our outstanding early years setting, children not only thrive but also achieve exceptionally well in their learning and development.
"Our dedicated staff form deep connections with each child, understanding their unique needs, interests, and abilities.
"We are so pleased that Ofsted recognised how settled, happy, and confident children are with them exploring our inspiring indoor and outdoor learning environments with boundless enthusiasm.
"The report speaks to the vibrancy of our setting, where children engage in imaginative play, physical activities, and rich conversations."
