DOUBLE-DECKER buses have been reinstated on a bus route that runs through key stops in Cirencester.
Stagecoach West has announced that double-deckers buses will be used on the 51 service between Swindon and Cheltenham via Cirencester once again.
This route stops opposite Chesterton Lane, at Bingham House and inside Cirencester Kingshill School's grounds.
Double-deckers were used on this route until March when part of the Cirencester Road / A435 closed for several months.
Due to overhanging trees, single-deckers have been used on this section for the last few months to avoid vehicle damage.
However, now the trees have been cut the 51 service has returned to its normal route and double-decker buses have been reinstated.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach West said: "Double-decker buses have been reinstated on the 51 route following the cutting back of overhanging trees which were previously unsafe and had the potential to cause vehicle damage.
"Returning to the vehicles previously in use means we can restore capacity along the route for our customers."
