FARM animals filled a care home in Cirencester with smiles and laughter this week.
Residents at Hunters Care Home in Cirencester had a surprise visit from The Good Day Farm on Tour on Tuesday, August 29.
Sheep, goats and pigs excitedly roamed around the care home's garden and many residents got a chance to hold some ducklings.
Even residents who could not make it outside on the day got a treat when Orange the sheep popped inside to visit them in their rooms.
The Good Day Farm on Tour is a local company which visits care homes and schools with farm animals, in a bid to boost education and wellbeing.
It was started by three friends who shared a love of the outdoors, the environment and animals.
They recognised that many people are unable to visit farms themselves so set out to bring the farm to them.
Resident Margaret was very excited and touched by the wonderful animals.
She said: “As a child I used to love all the animals on the nearby farm.
"Today was very enjoyable and it was wonderful that the animals were free to roam amongst us.”
General Manager at Hunters Ciprian Groza said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today.
"We knew that having the farm here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus.
"We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”
