A MAN from Northleach has admitted assaulting and harassing a woman as well as damaging her property.
John McMullan, aged 46, of Potters Walk, Northleach, pleaded guilty to three offences at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 15.
He assaulted the woman by beating in Cheltenham on Sunday, January 22.
On the same day McMullan damaged the victim's Ford Fiesta car key which was worth £149.
In addition, McMullan pursued a course of conduct that amounted to harassment between Monday, January 30 and Friday, February 3.
This included sending a handwritten greetings card to her home address on January 30, placing his business card on the windscreen of her car on February 1 and sending 16 text messages on February 3.
For all three offences a community order was imposed which states that McMullan must participate in an accredited program for 30 days.
A restraining order was also imposed banning McMullan from contacting the victim or going to her place of work.
McMullan must pay a £114 victim surcharge plus £249 in compensation and £85 in costs - a total of £448.
