AN INDEPENDENT school in Tetbury celebrated the results of the school's first set of fully co-ed Year 11s this morning.
Westonbirt School staff has praised this group for their resilience in dealing with huge levels of disruption to their education due to the pandemic over the last few years.
In total, 69 per cent of grades achieved by this cohort were between Grade 5 to 9.
In religious studies, 89 per cent of all grades awarded were at Grade 7 to 9 (A* or A, under the previous system).
Meanwhile, in art, biology, history and Spanish, 40 per cent or more of all grades were also at this level.
Westonbirt staff were are particularly pleased with the English results, with 97 per cent being awarded a Grades 4 - 9, along with some impressive individual achievements in this subject.
Deputy head academic Simon Balderson said: “This cohort have had to show a huge amount of resilience in dealing with the disruption to their education caused by lockdown, in addition to the well-publicised approach exam boards are taking to marking this year, as they aim to return to pre-pandemic levels of grading.
"Given that context, we are particularly proud of the excellent achievements of our pupils in many areas, as they move on to the next phase of their academic careers."
