MALMESBURY'S town centre was transformed into a lively, colourful street market at the weekend.

The highly anticipated Petticoat Lane pop-up street market returned to the Wiltshire town - as part of the Malmesbury's Carnival Programme 2023 - on Sunday, August 20.

Malmesbury Carnival is a longstanding tradition in the town which has been going for over a hundred years and brings residents, businesses, and visitors together for events during August and September.

Town mayor and Wiltshire councillor Gavin Grant officially declared the market open in the morning and went onto browse through the colourful array of stalls which lined the streets.

The smell of fresh fruit and street food wafted around the market as the Malmesbury Morris Dancers twirled down the High Street.

Local businesses from Wiltshire were showcasing an abundance of knick-knacks including books, crafts, jewellery and textiles.
