AN ARREST has been made after a pedestrian was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident near Royal Wootton Bassett.
The pedestrian, who is in his 30s, was hit by a Volkswagen Caravelle on the A3102 near the entrance to The Wiltshire Hotel at around 6.40am on Thursday, August 17.
He sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital.
A man in his 40s who was driving the car was then arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and drug driving.
This man has now been released under investigation while enquiries are carried out by the Serious Collision Investigation Team.
Police officers are keen to speak to the driver of a HGV who may have witnessed the pedestrian prior to the collision.
