A WINE tasting, a pop-up street market and a bat walk are just a few activities that will take place in Malmesbury in the upcoming week.
This year's Malmesbury Carnival programme is jam-packed, brimming with fun days out for the whole family to get involved with.
Malmesbury Carnival is a longstanding tradition in the Wiltshire town which has been going for over a hundred years and brings residents, businesses, and visitors together for events during August and September.
Next week's festivities starts with a talk from Charles Vernon about using photographs from the Malmesbury Civic Trust archives in The Julia and Hans Rausing Building on Tuesday, August 15.
History lovers will be able admire the trust's 700 photographs that depict the town's street scene in 1964.
Tickets are £9 each and will be available online or at the Tourist Information Centre in the Town Hall.
Meanwhile, on Thursday (August 17) Mike Kemp and his team at the Whole Hog restaurant in Market Cross will be hosted one of the carnival's most highly-anticipated events... the annual wine tasting dinner!
There are only 38 tickets available so make sure you get them before they disappear.
In addition, a spooky bat walk will take place the following day (Friday, August 18) in Conygre Mead Nature Reserve by Station Yard Car Park at 8.30pm.
Bat expert Paul Darby from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will take residents on a guided walk through the nature reserve and they will get the chance to learn how to use a bat detector.
Tickets will available at venue and visitors have been encouraged to bring a torch.
Furthermore, Malmesbury’s favourite pop-up street market will return to the High Street on Sunday, August 20 between 10am
and 3pm.
Expect books, crafts, toys and textiles plus live music and a vast range of food stalls.
