One man has been arrested after over £100,000 worth of goods were stolen from an RAF base following the Royal International Air Tattoo.
A week after the popular air show, at around 4am on Sunday, July 23, police received a report of metal being stolen from an address in Fairford.
Officers from both Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, including an armed response vehicle and dog units, intercepted a vehicle containing the suspected stolen sheets of metal, which were later recovered.
A 33-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of theft.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Wiltshire Police reported that in total 89 sheets, each worth around £1,500, were seized during the stop, giving the haul an estimated value of £133,500.
