A RESTAURANT in Cirencester hosted a charity dinner to support the recently launched NFRSA – The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals.

Indian Rasoi, an Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant, situated on Dollar Street, saw over 60 diners turn up to raise money for the young charity on Tuesday, July 18.

Over £1200 was raised via the dinner and a further £300 in the raffle.

Run by Roman Abu, the Cirencester restaurant put on a set menu for their guests, including the Countess Bathurst, who launched the charity in May last year.

Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard:

Roman said: “It was a great evening, we thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s company.

"Lady Bathurst did a speech about the charity and we learnt so much more about it and why it is worth while to provide help for the animals when they leave the police or the army as well as support for those that choose to look after them.”

A NFRSA spokesperson said: "A huge thanks to the lovely family owned Indian Rasoi in Cirencester who hosted a delicious dinner for us last night.

"Exemplary dishes, all home-cooked using fresh ingredients (some were sourced from far and wide to make it absolutely perfect).

"It was a wonderful evening, such a happy atmosphere and a fantastic £1200 was raised for the NFRSA.

"Thank you all you very much, to the family, the staff, the donations of gorgeous raffle prizes, and to guests who joined us and were so generous - we loved every moment."
