THE A40 near Northleach will be closed for 10 nights in the upcoming weeks to resurface the road.
The resurfacing will start on Tuesday, July 25 and finish on Tuesday, August 8.
Closures will be in place between the hours of 8pm and 7am during this time period.
However, the road will not be closed on weekends and Bank Holidays.
Drivers will need to proceed with caution outside of the work hours as there will be a temporary surface.
For safety reasons there will be no vehicle access through the work site with the exception of the emergency services.
A 1.5-mile stretch of the A40 between the A429 roundabout and the junction for Windrush will be resurfaced.
Drivers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
A diversion route will be in place via the A424 and A429.
Cllr Dom Morris, cabinet member responsible for highways at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “As part of our further £100 million investment into highways, we are continuing to invest in our local roads to ensure we keep our county moving.
“This resurfacing project will help to improve the quality of an important route through the Cotswolds.
“I would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience while we undertake this work to improve the road.”
