AN ANIMAL lover who runs a popular Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant in Cirencester has planned a special dinner to raise awareness for a new charity.
Indian Rasoi, situated in Dollar Street, Cirencester, is run by Roman Abu who has organised a set menu dinner to support NFRSA – The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals - for Tuesday, July 18.
The animal charity was founded by Countess Bathurst and was set up to promote the care, wellbeing and welfare of retired service animals from across the emergency services such as the police, fire, prison and border force.
She developed a love for service animals during her term as Gloucestershire High Sheriff in 2016.
Its motto is 'Protect Our Protectors’ and helps with medical and veterinary bills, which inevitably occur as the animals get older.
Animal lover Roman wanted to support the cause so decided to host a charity dinner where all the profits will go to NFRSA.
Roman said: “It will be a real honour to host the Countess and to help raise some money for her charity.
"I am an animal lover and it is important to me that these animal which have worked and assisted us are looked after when they retire.
“The evening will be bookings only and we have already had a lot of interest.
"It will be a set menu of £35 per person, so please come and join us, it will be a lovely evening."
