FOUR cocktail connoisseurs are excited show off their mixology skills at an annual cocktail making competition this summer.

The Cotswold Cocktail King will be crowned at the Ingleside Hotel in Cirencester on Monday, June 19. 

Last year’s champion Ryan Walters of Ingleside Hotel and Téatro Restaurant and Bar will defend his mixology title against Tierra and Mar’s Luis Paladines, Alex O’Hara of Sam and Jak and newcomer Nico Travers from Pettifers in Crudwell.

The event will be judged by Wood Brothers Distillery in Bampton which will be providing the gin, vodka and vermouth that will used in the competition. 

This competition was initially launched on International Cocktail Day on Saturday, May 13.

Charlie from Wood Brothers Distillery said: "The challenge is to make a stunning summer drink, the winning cocktail will go onto a special menu at the winner’s venue.”

Téatro’s Ryan Walters said: “Others in the town are welcome to join in, I want to beat everyone this year.

"It was great fun last year as we would never usually get the chance to all come together.”
