MULTIPLE events are taking place in or near Cirencester over the coronation weekend.
While the eyes of the country and the world are on King Charles III's coronation tomorrow, there are plenty of events taking place on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday to mark the historic occasion.

- Cirencester
Live music, multiple markets and a huge luncheon are just a few events happening in Cirencester to celebrate King Charles III's coronation.
The main event will be a Big Lunch in the Abbey Grounds, where everyone is invited to bring a picnic to celebrate the historic occasion together on Sunday, May 7.
This is part of the Eden Project's Big Lunch initiative which aims to create friendships, reduce loneliness and boost community spirit.
There will be also an artisan market, live music and food stalls between 12pm and 6pm.
Charities and community groups will be present to signpost their services and talk about the volunteering opportunities in the area.
Willow sculptor and outdoor educator Chris Oakey, of Oakey Bear Sculptures, will be running willow weaving workshops at six schools in Cirencester earlier on in the week.
These shelters will be on display at the Big Lunch and then will be installed in three play areas across the town as a lasting memory of the coronation celebrations.
A variety of markets will be taking place in the Market Place, Cirencester to join the coronation celebrations such as two Charter Markets on Friday, May 5 and Monday, May 8.
An Arts and Crafts Market will take place on Saturday, May 6.
The coronation service will be screened at the Parish Church on Saturday, May 6.
- Tetbury
There will be no major party in Tetbury to celebrate the King's Coronation but a lunch, a big screen and a community litter pick, picnic and drinks are all planned along with
On Saturday, May 4 the Good Shed Art Centre intends to show the Coronation on the big screen.
On Sunday, May 7, no Main Street closures are possible due to Badminton Event, and this also includes car park closures.
However Tetbury Cricket Club will be holding a BIG LUNCH on the recreation ground and all are invited.
On Monday, May 8 there will be a community litter pick in association with Greening Tetbury for the big help out.
The council would like everyone to clear up in the streets and roads, litter picking equipment will be available at the town council offices, there will also be large bins available for rubbish to be placed in at the rear of the town council offices.
They then will invite all volunteers to meet at the picnic area of the goods shed for a plastic free picnic, please bring your own drinks bottles/containers or your own picnic.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be hosting drinks for volunteers, again all are welcome. The picnic and drinks will take place from 12.30pm until 3pm.
There will also be a special book available for people to sign and give their messages of congratulations available in the council offices.
- Malmesbury
Live music, a community picnic and a tea party fit for royals are just a few events happening in Malmesbury over the coronation weekend.
The celebrations will commence on Saturday, May 6 in Malmesbury Abbey where the coronation service will be projected on a large screen.
Vicar of Malmesbury the Rev Oliver Ross, supported by Curate Sarah Heywood, will also be leading a service of Thanksgiving at the Abbey the following day starting 11am until 12.30pm.
After the service, a free community picnic will take place at Cloister Gardens behind the Abbey between 12.30pm and 4pm.
Everyone is welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the live music from The Malmesbury Concert Band and dancing from Malmesbury Morris.
There will be prizes for the best dressed royals, so children are encouraged to come in their most impressive regal attire.
A bouncy castle and crafts stalls will be present for children to enjoy.
Former mayor Kim Power said: “Following a service in Malmesbury Abbey on Sunday, May 7 from 11am to 12.30pm, we will be celebrating with a free fun community picnic available to all, including entertainment and a fun fancy dress parade for children.”
