A NEW pub will open in the Cotswold Water Park tomorrow.
Cotswold Lakes Brew Co (CLB) are ready to unveil their new taproom in Somerford Keynes and it is set to be a popular venue for local performers.
The independent craft beer business was set up by a group of work colleagues who loved drinking beer and decided it would be fun to start making it during lockdown in 2020.
These entrepreneurs are excited about this milestone and have chosen Field Farm, Somerford Keynes, in the Cotswold Water Park as the perfect venue for their permanent taproom.
What started as a PowerPoint presentation has now evolved into a successful enterprise with a core range of six beers, including their flagship Pale Ale.
This pub will also have a range of food on offer, brand-new toilets and a raised stage to host local bands and performers.
Nick Hunt, CLB's chief beer officer, said: “The new-look taproom is a really exciting milestone for us.
“We’ve made it more comfortable without losing the charm of the farm.
"We’ve tried to create a family-friendly environment where you can get delicious hot food and a wide choice of alcoholic and soft drinks.
“We had some great local music acts in our old taproom last year - there was a motown and disco singer, some great acoustic bands and an impromptu open mic night.
"There’s a lot more of that to come this summer!”
The brewery won awards for their Pale Ale and Cotswold Porter last year.
They have acquired new brewing equipment which means they can now expand their range with smaller batch special edition brews.
Sustainability is central to the brewery's philosophy and they have used recycled cardboard for packaging, recycled glass for their bottles and collect surplus bread from local catering companies to use in the brewing process.
Collaboration is also one of their key values and they work with a range of local businesses - the taproom’s wines will come from Poulton Hill Estate, ciders from Mates Cider Company in Minety and Just Pressed in Mitcheldean, and spirits from Wood Brothers Distillery in Oxfordshire.
They will be hosting a grand opening on Friday, April 7 from 5pm - 9pm and will be open every Friday onwards from 5pm.
