A COTSWOLD hotel has come up with an creative dish to celebrate Wiltshire's wealth of local food producers for British Pie Week.

The kitchen team at Pettifers Freehouse Hotel in Crudwell, near Malmesbury, have created a pie made from Wiltshire lardy cake, Brinkworth blue cheese, Wiltshire cure bacon and a locally sourced rhubarb compote.

British Pie Week is an event which is celebrated on the first week of March every year.

Pies has been served since around 2000 B.C. and loved by Brits since the 12th century.

The brainchild of this delicious Wiltshire pie is Ethan Rodgers, the new executive chef at Pettifers Freehouse Hotel.

Ethan said: “We have so many many great producers and suppliers in the area.

“British Pie Week should be a celebration of all things local and you don’t get much better bacon than this.

"It is a great opportunity to showcase the great farmers and producers we have around here and combine all the flavours to create something special.”
