A NEW sustainable dining experience will be joining Cirencester's culinary scene this April.

The Scenic Supper duo, Toby Baggott and Sam Lawson-King, have announced they will be opening Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden on Friday, April 7.

This new restaurant café, located at The Old Kennels in Cirencester Park, will offer a relaxed setting for coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or takeaway.

Sustainability is at the heart of this new project and will be reflected in the menu which will only encompass produce from within a 25-mile radius of the restaurant, alongside fruit and vegetables grown on the onsite kitchen garden.

Head Chef, Sam Idione’s menus will showcase home-grown produce, including locally reared beef, lamb, pork and poultry, game from the Bathurst Estate and its neighbours.

Children menus and vegetarian options will also be available.

Toby Baggott said: “Climate change, food miles and sustainability are at the forefront of our minds, so growing our own food over a weekly cycle with daily changing specials will help us achieve our goal of creating a low to zero food waste restaurant.”

The regularly changing specials board will offer delicious ‘Field to Fork’ dishes dictated by the seasons and what’s best on the day.

The Roots + Seeds café and restaurant overlooks the Kitchen Garden, an outdoor children's play area and two courtyards which will offer additional dining seating.

There will also be a bar showcasing award-winning King Stone gin, seasonally changing gin cocktails, a selection of English sparkling wines and beers produced next door by Corinium Ales and Hook Norton Brewery ciders.

The Kitchen Garden will also be used as a welcoming community space to encourage local school children, volunteers and charities to come together.

Every Saturday Toby, a passionate gardener, will be in the Kitchen Garden to talk to visitors about all aspects of growing food.

Breakfast and lunch will be served between Monday – Saturday 8am – 5pm (food until 3.30pm) and dinner will be available Thursday – Saturday 6pm-11pm (food until 9pm).
