A NEW dance school has opened in Stroud.

After many searches for a dance class for her young daughter, Emily Goodall, decided to take the plunge and start her own dance school.

She will initially be offering baby ballet and pre-school ballet.

Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard:

"The first week was great and it was lovely to get going with our new students," said Emily.

"Dance is important for children to learn as it allows them to gain confidence.

"They are able to develop their creativity as well as express themselves in a way that they may not learn in other aspects of life.

"Dance also offers children the chance to learn discipline, focus, build their self esteem as well as forming strong friendships and there are lots of physical benefits too.

"These fundamental values are placed at the heart of Studio 94 Dance."

Emily Goodall is a former dancer and trained secondary school teacher who specialises in the performing arts.

She is offering a free trial lesson for anyone who wants to sign their child up.

Classes take place at Archway Sports Centre Dance Studio on Saturday mornings.
