A MAN has appeared in court charged with manslaughter following an assault outside a pub in Bourton-on-the-Water which led to the death of a man eight days after the incident.
The charge relates to the death of 51-year-old Colin Leslie following an incident last year on August 28.
Liam McKane, aged 53, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court yesterday morning (Tuesday, November 1) where he was granted unconditional bail.
He is now due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on December 2.
An investigation was previously launched after it was reported that a man had been punched and fallen unconscious following an altercation at The Kingsbridge Inn.
Mr Leslie, who was from Cheltenham, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with head injuries but died eight days after the incident.
In a statement released by police, his family paid tribute to Mr Leslie.
“Colin was a dearly loved son, father, brother, partner and uncle,” they said.
“Colin was always a happy guy who was well known to everyone and who touched so many lives.
“We as a family are absolutely heartbroken that he has been tragically taken from us like this. Our lives without Colin will never be the same again.”
