“It smells awful” - sewage spilling onto pathway in Cirencester (Image: Newsquest)
RAW sewage is spilling out of a pipe and onto a public pathway in the centre of Cirencester near Tesco in Farrell Close.
According to an eyewitness Sheryl Moaby she said the smell is ‘awful’ in Brewery Court.
She said: “It looks like the sewer pipes are broken or collapsed and sewage is spilling out.
“The smell is awful along with the sunken stones so be aware.”
Reports on social media suggested that old tree roots have damaged the pipes and drainage.
We approached Thames Water for a comment.
