A SWINDON pub with historic features has suddenly shut.
The Crumpled Horn in Eldene closed its doors to customers over the weekend and has not reopened since.
The Crumpled Horn previously closed in May 2019 and fell into disrepair, with piles of litter and overgrown weeds turning the site into an eyesore, and it became a hotspot for antisocial behaviour.
After a number of takeover bids, Admiral Taverns took it on from Star Pubs in February 2020. The pub reopened under new management later that year, in October - but the managers have now left.
An Admiral Taverns spokesman said: “At Admiral, we take great pride in running sustainable pubs and we oversee more than 1,600 across England, Scotland and Wales.
"After careful consideration and discussions with the licensees, they have decided to leave the business.
"We are currently in the process of looking for new licensees to ensure the successful future of the Crumpled Horn and anyone interested should please get in touch on 01244 321 171"
The House that Jack Built nursery rhyme inspired the design and roof of the Crumpled Horn, which was built in 1975 and earned a Grade 2 listing from Historic England in 2018.
