Local farmers and businesses to take centre stage at one of UK’s biggest agricultural shows.
The Moreton Show returns next month, and organisers hope it will provide an opportunity to celebrate the many businesses thriving in the Cotswolds.
Richard Heath, the show’s trade stand co-ordinator, said: “We are keen to promote farm to fork at our show.
“We think its paramount that everyone understands where their food comes from, and what it takes to produce that food.
“We hope to help educate the next generation about their food and what makes up a balanced diet. It’s also great to show we can repurpose items rather than sending them to landfill.”
Following on from the success of the revamped layout for the 2021, organisers have decided to keep the widened aisle ways and food and retail avenues, which were a sell-out last year.
The area will be full to the brim with local businesses, from beef reared in Hereford to sustainably made rugs using recycled clothing.
This year there will be 40 food trade stands all based within a 20-mile radius of the showground.
A long-standing supporter of the show, The Pig and Lion, have had a trade stand at Moreton Show for the past 12 years and have watched the show grow to what it is today.
This year the team will be demonstrating the traditional and sustainable craft of rag rug making throughout the day, showing how old t-shirts, jeans, jumpers and shirts can be repurposed.
Ann-Rachel, from The Pig and Lion, said: “I love how rural life runs through the heart of the show, it's friendly, supportive and inspirational.”
There will also be plenty of opportunities to do some shopping at the Moreton Show, with everything from combines to cashmere, tweed to tractors, wellies to wax jackets on offer.
The event takes place on Saturday, September 3, with tickets available now at www.moretonshow.co.uk.
