Wetherspoons has responded to rumours they will be opening in pub in Cirencester.
Social media has been awash with speculation that the pub chain could be coming to the town.
Strong arguments have been put forward for and against, but a poll published by the Standard last week that received more than 1,200 responses found 63 per cent were in favour of Wetherspoons opening in Cirencester.
And the pub chain are equally keen to open in the town according to their response to the rumours.

Bingham Library and the old House of Fraser store have both been touted as possible venues. The company appear to have had difficulty finding a suitable building but are continuing to look for one.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: "We would be very keen to open a Wetherspoon pub in Cirencester.
"We have looked at numerous sites over the years but have not been able to identify a suitable one.
"We continue to look for a site in the town."
