A new farm shop has opened its doors in the Cotswolds.
More than 300 visitors attended the grand opening of Bennetts Farm Shop near Tetbury last month.
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Simon and Tara Best, the shop is the first in the area to use innovative self-service vending machines.
The opening event, which took place on Saturday, March 26 saw visitors of all ages turning out to enjoy samples of the farm’s Aberdeen Angus beef and other produce.
A chef was on hand to show visitors how to cook the beef to perfection.
The success of the opening event saw the initial stock of steaks sold out within three hours, with the roasting joints also selling out by the end of the following day.
All stock has now been replenished and the farm shop is open every day from 8am to 7pm.
As well as the farm’s home bred and raised beef, Bennetts Farm Shop also stocks a wide range of local produce from Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the rest of the Cotswolds and features a self-service milk vending machine from the nearby Leighterton Dairy. There is also a coffee machine.
Speaking about the grand opening Tara and Simon said: “What a start for Bennetts Farm Shop!
"It’s everything we hoped for and seeing so many people here was a dream come true.
"We are exhausted, delighted and can’t thank the local community enough for their amazing support.
"We have had amazing feedback so far from customers about the beef and the other produce and look forward to welcoming lots more customers through the door in the coming months.”
The shop is located at Bennetts Farm, just outside Leighterton at the postcode GL8 8UP.
