A person has died on the railway line near between Swindon and Bristol this morning (Friday).
Emergency services were called to the line at 10am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Sadly the victim, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “We were called to the line near Swindon at 9.35am this morning (25 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and establish the full circumstances behind their death.”
Train services between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon were disrupted for three hours, but services have now resumed.
