The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for England, affecting Gloucestershire.

Winter is here and the cold temperatures come with it which will see parts of the UK affected by ice.

The warning for Gloucestershire is in place on Thursday, December 2 from 00.00 to 10am.

The news comes after Storm Arwen took hold last week followed by snow that was seen settling in areas earlier at the weekend.

What does the Met Office say?

The Met Office explains in its warning that we should expect icy surfaces to cause “some injuries from slips and falls.”

Untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths will probably have icy patches so it’s important to be careful when on the move.

Journey times may be disrupted due to the upcoming weather with the Met Office explaining: “Some roads and railways may be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.”
