FIRECREWS from across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire tackled a huge straw stack fire in a barn at Malmesbury.
Crews from Tetbury, Chippenham and Nailsworth were called to the blaze at a farm off Tetbury Road shortly after 11am yesterday morning.
They were supported by a water carrier from Royal Wootton Bassett.
There were around 15 bales of straw destroyed within a barn.
On-site machinery was used to remove the bales away from the and one hose reel jet was used to extinguish.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check there was no fire spread.
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “The stop came at 1.20pm and we were off scene by 2pm, although there will be a reinspection to ensure all is well.”
