A plane from the AeroSuperBatics wingwalking display team based near Cirencester crashed into the sea at Bournemouth Air Festival.
The world's only formation wingwalking team were wowing crowds at the aerial event when one of the planes involved reportedly crashed in the sea near Sandbanks Ferry at around 3.50pm on Saturday.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue attended the incident immediately.
"At 3.52pm this afternoon, through the joint command structure in place for the Bournemouth Air Festival, we were made aware of a light aircraft crash near Sandbanks," it said.
"Firefighters from Poole and Westbourne attended this incident alongside our technical rescue team from Poole.
"When fire crews arrived the two passengers of the plane were out of the aircraft and receiving treatment.
"Firefighters were required on scene to support partners, provide scene and traffic control.
"The stop message was received at 4.18pm."
The Bournemouth Air Festival said it halted all flying on the day as a result of the accident in a statement released on social media.
It said: "There has been an incident involving one of the displays away from the display area.
"The crew are safe and sound and are being looked after by the emergency services."
In an updated statement provided a little later on, the festival confirmed there would be no more flying.
"Flying has been suspended for this evening. It is our intention to have a display programme reinstated for tomorrow.
"The festival site remains open and all ground-based activities continue with the Birds of Prey, Beat Retreat, trading, Sing-a-long Grease and the fireworks."
