An historic country pub in Chipping Campden has been ranked the most ‘instagrammable’ in the UK by a lifestyle brand.
The Ebrington Arms (@theebringtonarms), named the best UK village inn by the Times in 2017, has received another accolade, this time from Hollands Country Clothing which chose it as the best country pub to photograph for Instagram.
In second place came The Sportsman (@sportsmankent), in Kent, and Killingworth Castle (@thekillingworth) came third – a pub near Woodstock which is also run by the owners of the Ebrington Arms.

“We’ve been in the pub for 14 years and I love photographing it so this is lovely recognition to get,” said Claire Alexander, who owns the pubs with her husband Jim.
“Instagram has allowed me to connect with so many new customers all over the world and put our little country pub on the map as a Cotswold destination.
“Marketing is my background so Instagram has been great in helping us build the business over the years, for the food, rooms but also to show the special features and atmosphere the pub has.”
The couple have run the Ebrington Arms for 14 years and are looking forward to reopening after Covid restrictions relax; so are many residents, with Visit Britain projecting 79 per cent more domestic tourism spending in 2021 than last year.
Until then, Claire and Jim are serving takeaways on Saturdays between 10am and 8pm, and Sundays between 10am and 4pm.
Mark Holland, managing director of Hollands Country Clothing, said: “If lockdown has shown us anything, it’s that green spaces and good company are essential for our mental health and wellbeing.
“We hope this research will help the public explore the British countryside and find some truly hidden gems.
“We also hope that it will help highlight truly amazing country pubs that are often the heart and soul of their community.”
