On Thursday night Tetbury Fire Crew wanted to show their respects and camaraderie to the great work all the carers, NHS staff, doctors and nurses are doing looking after us all during this difficult time.
Dave Smith said: "We have worked closely with the ambulance service the last 15 years co-responding in our community attending category one calls with them and know what immense work they do and what strain they are under at this time.
“The Fire service is helping the ambulance service even more and with other roles in the NHS at this moment in time and members of the crew at Tetbury have volunteered in taking on these roles beyond their normal duties to help out at this most difficult time.
"I am very proud of all the crew at the station and how they have stepped up to the challenge Covid-19 has thrown at us.
"They are all still trying to continue with their role as on call fire fighters, still carrying out training with social distancing, responding to emergency calls as always and taking on these new roles and jobs supporting the other important agencies in the county no matter how difficult these roles entail."
