TWO men have died and two men suffered serious injuries in a collision near Church Westcote in the North Cotswolds yesterday (Sunday, December 9).
All the emergency services attended when a grey Nissan car and a black Ford pick-up truck collided on the A424 between Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford at about 9.15am.
The driver of the Nissan, a 50-year-old man from Coventry, and a passenger in the pick-up truck, a 74-year-old man from Devizes in Wiltshire, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up truck, a 63-year-old man from Devizes, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries and remains in a stable condition.
A 61-year-old man from Devizes who was a passenger in the Ford-pick-up truck suffered serious injuries and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains in a stable condition.
Next of kin have been informed and the road was closed for a number of hours while a collision investigation took place.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicles being driven before the collision should call 101 and quote incident 121 of December 9.
