BOWLERS in Tetbury completed a 24 hour challenge to raise money for charity.

Taking place on Friday, July 27, running through to Saturday, July 28, Tetbury Bowls club took on the challenge in aid of Guide Dogs for the blind.

23 teams attended throughout the event, with some teams from Tetbury whilst other teams came as far as Chippenham, Purton and Wootton-Under-Edge.

The teams of four, three and two took part in one hour sessions, and managed to complete the challenge despite weather conditions turning for the worse with heavy rain falling.

Food and drink was available to keep the bowlers going.

Overall, the event manage to raise £3,000 for the charity and was said to have been a great success. A spokesperson for the event believes they have raised enough money to sponsor a god, whose name will be bowler.
