A MCDONALD'S worker died while at work in Cirencester, the fast food restaurant has confirmed.
The worker, a 62-year-old man from Wiltshire was taken ill this morning, at about 9.34am, when a call was received by the ambulance service.
An ambulance and paramedic attended the medical incident and a police helicopter was called but despite the attention of paramedics, the 62-year-old died at the scene.
A McDonald's spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that one of our employees passed away this morning while at work. The restaurant was closed to support our restaurant team.”
The death is not being treated as suspicious and the man's next of kin have been informed.
The fast food restaurant in Cricklade Road has been closed since the tragic incident.
Gavin Crilly, 53, from Stroud, had intended to go into McDonald's at about 11.10am when he saw the area coned off.
He said: "A police officer told me that he did not want too many people hanging around because it was a serious incident."
