FRENCHAY 10k celebrated its 37th anniversary on Sunday and three Thornbury runners made the short trip.
Sean Underwood finished in a time of 48:48 mins and placed 144th out of 527 runners. Liam Jones is familiar with this course and was next in 52:27 mins, followed by Kevin Davis in 1hr 4:22 mins.
Paul Thomas slashed 18 seconds off his PB at Chipping Sodbury parkrun, finishing in 19:27 mins and 15th position. Chris Dawes was next in 22:13 mins.
In the same race Karen Carr dipped under the 27 min barrier for the first time and knocked off a whopping 24 seconds from her PB in 26:46 mins. Anne Palmer was in the thick of the action once again and stopped the clock in 31:53 mins.
Tickets are selling fast for the Thornbury 10k which starts and finishes from Thornbury Rugby Club on Thursday, July 13.
It is the second in the club’s three race series with January’s Riverbank Rollick and the Oldbury Power 10 Miler on September 3.
Anyone who completes all three races will be the proud owner of a truly unique inter-locking medal.
